As we all know that world has separate rights for everything like rights of women, men , children, animal rights and many more. Inspire of these rights many liberal movements have run to fulfill the needs of the society. Feminism is an ideology which is concerned about the rights of female. A woman should be given equal rights as compared to a man. From 8 March many people from Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad specially woman had started to rallies to support Feminism. But not many people were acknowledged by this term since we got the news of Marvi Sarmad who got abused by Khalil ur Rehman on NeoTv on air. This incident gave a lot of hype to the Feminism and many people were astonished by the words which Khalil ur Rehman used for Marvi Sarmad.
I found AuratMarch2020 totally disgusting, people should be highlighting the issues which are faced in interior regions of Pakistan like Honor killing, Rape, Child marriages etc. But these women are just supporting the liberal and useless thoughts like a woman should be free to decide what she wants to do.
Trending banners of Aurat March 2020 were only showing how a liberal woman wants to control the society and these banners were all about to threaten or to belittle men. Woman’s right are included in human rights basically and each human has a right to enjoy liberty. People should be concerned about how a woman should be treated like. But these liberal feminists are only focused about if they should wear scarf or not? or why a woman can’t sit like a man? Like seriously you really want to brag about the things which aren’t even a things to brag about. Siting like a man will not make you powerful but if you’re siting in a nice way this includes in modesty.
Pakistan has a issue like low literacy rate of woman but the feminists are busy in making banners on a woman shouldn’t be forced to cover herself or to wear scarf. Wearing scarf won’t make your appearance dull and you can’t judge a person if she covers her head. Every region has different culture and religious values and you can not judge them by what they are wearing.
The term feminism is totally misused in Pakistan. Cooking or household chores won’t make you disparaged. The work of house is always divided if a woman goes to do job then a man will do house chores and vise versa. So it’s a useless point to discuss who’ll do the house chores. Heating your food isn’t something which should be focused in Aurat march. These useless and offensive comments only spread the hatred between two genders.
My body my choice this slogan which support the idea of bodily autonomy that promote self reproduction choice but no one has a right to abort a fetus . It’s a long debate if we think about it in Islamic way.
If we go back to dark ages there were no rights for women and the people buried them alive but after that Islam give women to live a life respectfully. Not only in Islam but other religions and even UN has made laws for women. Feminism is an ideology which should be promoted but not in a way like Pakistan is promoting it.
We should more focus on the serious issues which are faced by women like harassment in school and colleges, sexual abuse, early age marriages, illiteracy among women, honor killing.
These all are serious issues in Pakistan and there nothing to cry on if your parents or brothers tell you to cover yourself or don’t go outside without alone. These all restrictions for women are there for their safety. Wondering alone in Pakistan isn’t safe at all and we haven’t forget motorway incident so if your man doesn’t let you go out alone at night this is for your safety.
